ABC fans say 'he has lost his mind' as show halted for Trump news amid David Muir exit
ABC World News Tonight viewers have expressed their shock over some wild Donald Trump breaking news, as the show's regular host took another day off.
While David Muir, 52, was away on his Easter break, his colleague Rachel Scott was on hand to fill in for him and she got straight down to business when a breaking announcement came in on the latest social media outburst of Preisdent Trump, who made a disturbing sex comment on stage that silenced the alarmed audience.
Rachel began: "President Trump issued a new threat to Iran on this Easter Sunday. And in a phone interview this morning, the president told me that if Iran does not make a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the US will blow up the whole country." It comes after Pam Bondi breaks her silence after being fired and has a message for Trump.
"And tonight, what the president said about targeting civilian infrastructure, here's ABC Salina Wang," Rachel concluded her part of the segment before passing onto her co-star.
Selena then told viewers, "Tonight, President Trump threatening to bomb Iran's infrastructure in an Easter Sunday message. The president issued a profanity-laden social media post warning Iran will be living in hell if they do not reopen the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday night, writing, 'Tuesday will be power plant day and bridge day all wrapped up in one.'
"Trump has repeatedly issued 48-hour deadlines for Iran to open the critical waterway or face attacks on its energy infrastructure, only to delay his timeline, and for days, the president has been sending conflicting messages, arguing the US can open the Strait itself and take the oil, while also claiming it's up to other countries to break Iran's chokehold."
A clip of Trump then played as he told the press, "They can do it easily. We will be helpful, but they should take the lead in protecting the oil that they so desperately depend on."
Selena continued her report, "Today, the president telling ABC News, if Iran does not make a deal, we're blowing up the whole country. 'If there is no deal, we are going to hit each and every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously,'" as a clip played of Trump's response.
"When asked if he's concerned about striking civilian infrastructure, Trump said, 'The civilians want me to do it,' arguing the Iranian people are living in hell," Selena concluded. The segment was shared on ABC World News Tonight's Instagram page with the caption, "President Trump warns if Iran doesn’t make a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Iran will be “living in hell.” @selinawangtv reports on the President’s threats to strike infrastructure."
Viewers were quick to weigh in on the story, with one user commenting, "It was never about support!" as a second said, "Doubles down? That was an unhinged threat to commit war crimes. What the hell is mainstream media doing? It’s Easter. The post was criminal."
Someone else fumed, "Trump and his entire regime needs to be removed now they’re all a THREAT to the American people. Congress needs to step in now!!!!!"
"He has lost his mind. Seriously," a fourth chimed in, prompting a fifth to blast, "We are already living in hell here because of you!!" Meanwhile, a sixth added, "I’m sorry, but I was dying laughing like the way she said that he would bomb the c--p out of the country is hilarious like it’s just funny in my opinion because knowing him he’s dumb enough to try that."
