James Maddison haunts his former club as Tottenham finally win

Tottenham finally got their first Premier League win at the seventh time of asking by beating Coventry City 3-1 at home on Monday night.

James Maddison came back to haunt his former club as he opened the scoring with a delightful finish from the edge of the penalty area.

Coventry responded as Jack Rudoni equalised four minutes after half time, but Omar Marmoush restored Tottenham’s advantage just before the hour mark.

A tense finish ensued, with Dejan Kulusevski coming off the bench for his first appearance in 526 days, before Ben Davis wrapped up all three points in the xith minute of added time.

The result lifts Tottenham to 16th in the table, putting them above Coventry on goal difference after seven matches.
